Actually isn't that bad!

Today I painted the back bathroom(love having the yellow and red gone!!) and I am thinking I messed up my sense of smell for a while. I keep smelling the scent of a newborn breastfeed baby's poopy diaper. Now I know that sounds disgusting but I can honestly tell you after having 4 breastfeed babies, the smell of a BREASTFEED newborn baby diaper actually doesn't smell bad. It kinda has a yeasty smell to me, which I always thought was one of the benifits of breastfeeding vs formula feeding, because formula feed poopy diapers are HORRIBLE!!

So that is a look into my wierd brain for the day. lol

Jealous

I am not usually a person who gets jealous of other people, but from time to time I do. Today I had a moment of jealousy as I was driving and saw a lady who I know(a absolutely lovely lady who I happen to really like) walking by with her children who were being well behaved, she looked all cute and then, walking away from her new vehicle, and it got me thinking about how SHE is probably able to take care of all her kids, keep her house beautiful, have a happy marriage, and juggle all the hecticness in her life a lot better than I do, all while staying thin, always looking so well put together, and enjoying the perks of her husbands nice paying job.

Then the Lord slapped me up side the head(thank you Lord!!). He stopped me and reminded me that by being jealous of her blessings from God, I was overlooking mine. I was making her blessings to be greater than the blessings that God gives me everyday. Yes, she has a good life and God loves to shower her in blessings everyday, but I have an amazing life, with an awesome husband, and 5 beautiful children. God showers ME with blessings everyday, some that I dont even realize he has given me at the time. He loves me for ME! He doesnt desire me to be this other woman, she was made with a purpose and so was I.

I love when the Lord gets me past one of my "oh, poor Mandi" thoughts! And come to think of it, there might be some who believe I have a charmed life and envy my life.

I have to admit that I have been bitten by the royal bug. Even though I wasn't interested in watching the whole wedding of William and Kate, it was long and kinda boring, I did enjoy a few shows on Princess Di. I also watched 2 shows based on the royal families in England in the 1400-1500's. That then started the Internet search on all the different royal families from Europe. Did you know that one of the queens of England is known as the mother of Europe, or some nickname like that because a lot of her children and grandchildren became kings, queens, princes, and princesses of many countries in Europ?. The Queen Sofia of Spain who used to be the princess of Greece is related to Prince Charles on both sides of her parents.

I think that the times of kings and queens in the old days seems really romantic. Of course that is in my fairy tale image of them. In reality many kings and queens were not in love, slept with people other than their spouses, and lets face it using a chamber pot as a bathroom and eating food without refrigeration just doesn't appeal to me!!

So as romantic as the thought of being a country's queen or princess sounds, I think I will be content with being a princess in the kingdom of God, the King of kings!! Do you think that I could get people to refer to me as Her Royal Highness Princess Mandi?!

The circus life is not for me!

Yesterday while watching a commercial I came to the conclusion that men are very lucky in one aspect. When they start to get a double chin, they can just grow a beard to cover it up. Then you can't tell if their bushy beard is from facial hair or chub.



Women don't have the luxary. I mean lets face it, if we grow a nice beard to cover up our chubby face, no one will be wondering if their beard is extra bushy or from excess chub. They will be wondering why they haven't joined the circus as the bearded lady.



So I guess that I will refrain from growing a beard to cover up my chubby face, because I just don't have the desire to live the circus life. But if I was a man, I would so have a beard!! And that is just a little look into the interworkings of my head. Weird I know, but hey, that is me! lol

Yeah, I know I am different!!!

Ok, so as I get older I have decided to embrace my uniqueness. There is no one else like me on this earth and I for one think I am pretty awesome. And oh so humble. Anyway I have many quirks as I am sure John would agree with.

One is my love for breaking out in commercial jingles at the weirdest times. Yes, I know I am a dork, but hey that's me. I love jingles, they are fun to sing especially when you really get into singing them. Well this is one trait that I have passed onto Alex. I find it quite funny when he just randomly starts singing a jingle!

So another quirk of mine is that I have no problem with having a sticker placed on my face and wearing it in public. Often when we got to Walmart we get those little stickers that the door greeters hand out. They used to be the smiley faces, but now are blue round stickers with three yellow lines on them kinda like a petal. Well some people put them on their shirts or hands, but not the Schimeks. Our favorite place is right in the center of our foreheads. And I have been known to walk through Walmart with it there.

So the other day we bought some birdie stickers for Kennedy and this is what she did with them..............................

So that is a little bit about me. I am a dork, I married a dork, and we are raising our little family of dorks. We are unique and different, but God made us with a special purpose. Something that only we can do for his kingdom. And I for one am not ashamed of who God created me to be. Although sometimes I think the people I am with might be. lol
